Shown below are pictures of Goldendoodle and Labradoodle puppies. You will see pictures of them as young puppies and then as adolescents. We are providing this information to help you in the puppy selection process and to better educate you on what to look for in purchasing a hybrid puppy. Puppies at an early age offer clues to what their coats will look like as they grow, but you must know what to look for.
R.J. Is shown at 3 weeks of age with a red, wavy coat. As you can see at 7 months his coat color has lightened somewhat but the wavy coat remains. Looking at the amount of wave in a puppies’ coat is the surest way to predict the future. We classify coats as Wavy and Curly.
Sunny is shown with a somewhat curly coat. In most cases, the curlier the coat the closer you get to a “Non-Shedding” companion.
Jetta is an F1 Chocolate Labradoodle and had a straight coat as a puppy. As an adult, her coat has grown a little more wavy and her muzzle has continued to lighten.
